FEWER INCIDENTS DUE TO PERSONALISATION
Severinus is a care organisation for people with an intellectual disability and it uses the CoWin™ in the day centre and in the bedrooms of one high-risk client. Severinus uses two CoWin™ 32 media walls which are on pretty much all day. The staff, who are regularly confronted with aggression, are really enthusiastic, in particular about the de-escalation effect of the media walls. They experience it as an asset, being able to work more preventively with a new tool. Tensions don't rise as much, resulting in a fall in the number of incidents and consequently, in the pressure of work.
During an evaluation of the deployment of the CoWin™ 32 media wall, the following positive experiences were shared:
o Less aggression thanks to a good fit with clients' personal signalling plans
o A good mix of options in CoWin™ with which to offer recreation at an individual level - for example, for clients with autism, games that involve sorting and organising or for aggressive clients, calming images
o The 'Whack a Mole' game appears to be effective for clients who are highly alert and who after some time voluntarily go to the media wall to find some peace
o People are enthusiastic about the possibilities for personalisation, so that the functionality is adjusted as well as possible to clients' individual needs.
The world's leading solution for a faster, safer and more humane de-escalation in high-security facilities.
